The Die Bad anthology is a four part hard-core fist fighting action film originally created as separate short films. The underlying plot of the protagonist Sung-bin’s descent into a life of crime connects the four stylistically distinct parts. Director Ryoo earned the name ‘Action-Kid’ from critically acclaimed action-flicks such as City of Violence, Crying Fist and The Unjust. Die Bad contributes to a new renaissance of Korean action cinema and the Ryoo brothers maintain their status cultural icons of Korean cinema.
