The 3rd AmérAsia International Film Festival: Call for Submissions

The AmerAsia International Film Festival is a five-day festival showcase of contemporary a panoramic view on Asian cinema and media arts from Canadian and international artists.

Cine-Asie invites you to submit independent short films, mid-length films, and feature films for the 2nd edition of AmérAsia International Film Festival, to be held March 1-11, 2012 in Montreal, Quebec.

Submission Requirements:

We are looking for independent films by both Canadian and North American directors.

- Canadian short, mid-length, and feature films on Asian themes or with Asian content.
- North American short and mid-length films on Asian themes or with Asian content
- Any length
- Any language
- No age restrictions

Formats: any film or video can be submitted in DVD or digital format.

As an organization that seeks to promote inter-cultural appreciation and dialogue within the Asian-Canadian communities, we are particularly looking for films/video that explore engaging themes, contexts and crews between West and East relationship.

To submit a work for this festival, please enclose your DVD with an application form and send to:

4th National Video Portrait Competition

Call for submissions

Take a camera, make a video portrait on “FAMILY”!

Montreal-based arts organization Ciné-Asie presents a submission call to both filmmakers and film school students for short videos (5 minutes or less). In the 4rd edition of this competition, Ciné-Asie invites you to explore the unique relationship between Asia and Canada using video as a tool of expression to paint the portrait of your experience! A jury panel will determine the winners while an additional prize will be decided by audience vote. This competition will be showcased at AmerAsia Film Festival, March 1-11 2012 in Montreal, Canada.

Application Requirements:

Eligible Applicants: Any Canadian citizens, Canadian permanent resident, or Asian. (This call is open to the age of 13+)
Theme: Family”. It aims to capture the moments of family lives in Asian-Canadian or Asian-related circumstances.
Length: Between 30 seconds and 5 minutes
Shooting Format: Video

Required Submission Materials:

Duly completed and signed Submission Form
Preview Format: DVD
Screening Format: DVD, Mini-DV
